Grandma came just in time to enjoy Band Night with the kids. This is an event where each level band is featured at half-time during a local football game. It was cold so we actually left the younger kids at home, including baby Joshua. As he was only a few weeks old he was still sleeping for hours at a time - the timing was perfect.

Scenes from Grandma's visit. She had a fun surprise for the kids - a snow village. This was the highlight decoration of our Christmas season.
Grandma noticed that the older kids were a bit cold on Band Night as they had to march and play and didn't have hats or gloves. So she tried to get the kids little $ gloves. She was surprised to see that our store didn't carry much winter stuff. Actually, the band night had been our first cold snap of the season - so stores weren't stocking winter gear yet - which is why I hadn't bought any. We usually don't have to worry about cold weather til early December. We live in a different world from Idaho for sure.
Grandma did find some gloves/hats for the older kids and a cute hat for Amelia. They have been grateful for those items this winter.
Amelia had a "pretty-girl dance dress" that she wore every day. The skirt was mesh and it was in sad shape. Grandma saw this skirt in the post-Halloween clearance isle and got it for Amelia. It was perfect! It wasn't ripped or dragging on the floor and it was sparkly and great to twirl in. I don't think Amelia took it off for a week.
Grandma also found these cool snow globes for the kids - they LOVED them!

(When I posted this photo on FB Lysa commented that it had a familiar theme. We've had fun through the years with the 7 dwarf theme with mom and her seven kids. Now I guess it fits us too.)
