Abagail's Dance Recital

This year Abagail had the opportunity to take dance lessons. She took Ballet and Tap. Here are some photos from her recital.

Backstage on rehearsal night.

She really had a good time with the class. Unfortunately the only action shots I was able to get were during the opening number - as she was right in front of me. My camera didn't allow for any on stage shots.

Abagail did a wonderful job dancing. Her eyes sparkled with excitement the night of recital.

They were supposed to be more composed during the ballet number though - so this is her more serious look.

Abagail's Debut

Abagail participates in a program from church called Faith in God. One of the requirements suggests that she write a play, story, or poem about Heavenly Father's creations. Abagail chose to write a play. She worked SO hard on this for a long time. Finally the play was ready for production. Under Abagail's direction the kids presented the play on for our Family Night.

Abagail was in charge of writing, producing, directing, costumes, casting - the whole thing. She did a great job.

Some of the characters were Simon as "Pa", Katrina as "Ma", Gabriel and Amelia as "the curtain" - between acts. Abagail, Katrina, Simon and Oliver portrayed multiple characters.

Part of the costuming for Ma and Pa were to place blue camping pads under their clothes to give them bulk. Simon kept falling down and Gabriel was all too happy to help him up.

Spring Girl Scout Events

This Spring Katrina and Abagail had a chance to participate in some Girl Scout events around San Antonio.

Iron Chef event discussed nutrition and had LOTS of healthy, yummy food to try.

Next op was a sleep-over at the S.A. Zoo. The cool thing was the girls were able to take a night-time "flashlight" tour of the animals. They learned names of some of them and even got "pounced on" by the jaguar. Guess if you put your back to the jaguar she'll pounce the glass and try to play with you. Didn't work during the day - but the girls sure thought it was cool.

Checking out some animals.

Mom met up with the girls the following day to take the girl scouts on a day tour before heading home.
